# Email

> Automated utilization digests, workload notifications, and AI-powered email from Chamber

Chamber delivers GPU utilization digests, workload status alerts, and AI-composed messages directly to your team's inbox — so everyone stays informed without needing to open the dashboard.

## Why Email?

* **Stakeholder visibility** — Weekly digests give leadership and finance teams GPU cost and utilization data without needing a Chamber login
* **Personal workload alerts** — Get notified the moment your workloads start, complete, fail, or get preempted
* **Flexible delivery** — Send to all org members, target specific roles, or add external email aliases
* **AI-powered outreach** — Let the Chamber AI assistant draft and send professional emails on your behalf, backed by real usage data

## Weekly Utilization Digest

The weekly digest is a comprehensive GPU usage report delivered to your team every week. It's enabled by default for all organizations.

### What's Included

Each digest covers the previous 7 days and includes:

* **Utilization Summary** — Overall GPU usage percentage with week-over-week trend
* **Team Breakdown** — Per-team GPU allocation vs. actual usage
* **Top Performing Workloads** — Workloads with the highest GPU efficiency
* **Improvement Opportunities** — Underutilized workloads that could be optimized or rightsized
* **Cost Insights** — Estimated GPU costs, potential savings, and cost-per-workload metrics

### Configure the Weekly Digest

<Info>Digest configuration requires **Org Admin** permissions.</Info>

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open email settings">
    Navigate to **Settings → Notifications** in the Chamber dashboard.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set the schedule">
    Choose which **day of the week** (default: Monday) and **time** (default: 8:00 AM UTC) the digest goes out.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose the recipient mode">
    Select who receives the digest:

    * **All Members** — Every org member receives it (individuals can opt out)
    * **Subscribers Only** — Only members who explicitly subscribe receive it
  </Step>

  <Step title="Filter by role (optional)">
    Restrict delivery to specific roles: Platform Admin, Org Admin, Team Lead, or Member.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add email aliases (optional)">
    Add external email addresses (e.g., `finance-team@company.com`) that should also receive the digest.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Tip>
  Use **All Members** mode with role filtering to automatically reach all Team Leads and Admins, while individual members can still opt in on their own.
</Tip>

### Send a Test Digest

Want to see what the email looks like before rolling it out? Admins can send a test digest at any time using real data from the previous week. Go to **Settings → Notifications** and click **Send Test Digest** — it's sent only to you.

<Note>Test digests are rate-limited to once every 5 minutes per user.</Note>

## Daily Digest

For teams that need more frequent updates, Chamber also offers a daily utilization digest covering the previous 24 hours with the same metrics as the weekly version.

The daily digest is **disabled by default**. To enable it:

1. Go to **Settings → Notifications**
2. Toggle **Daily Digest** on
3. Set the delivery time (UTC)
4. Choose the recipient mode and roles, just like the weekly digest

Daily digests support their own separate set of email aliases, so you can route daily reports to an ops team while weekly reports go to leadership.

## Workload Notifications

Get an email the moment one of your workloads changes status. Each team member configures their own preferences independently.

### Supported Workload Events

| Event         | Description                                                       |

</Info>

## Managing Your Subscription

### Opt In / Opt Out

Depending on your organization's recipient mode:

* **All Members mode** — You're subscribed by default. Go to **Settings → Notifications** and click **Unsubscribe** to opt out of the weekly or daily digest.
* **Subscribers Only mode** — You start unsubscribed. Go to **Settings → Notifications** and click **Subscribe** to opt in.

### Email Aliases

Org Admins can add external email addresses that receive digests alongside org members. Great for:

* Distribution lists (`gpu-reports@company.com`)
* Finance or leadership teams who don't have Chamber accounts
* External stakeholders who need visibility into GPU costs

Aliases can be configured separately for weekly and daily digests.

## AI-Powered Email

The Chamber AI assistant (available via the Slack chatbot or dashboard chat) can compose and send emails on your behalf using live Chamber data.

### How It Works

<Steps>
  <Step title="Ask the AI to send an email">
    Describe who you want to reach and what you want to say — for example, "Email the top 5 teams by GPU spend with their utilization stats."
  </Step>

  <Step title="Chamber resolves recipients and gathers data">
    The AI identifies the right people, pulls relevant usage stats, workload details, or capacity info, and drafts a professional message.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Preview before sending">
    You review the draft and can request edits. Nothing sends without your approval.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Send with attribution">
    The email is delivered with clear attribution showing it came from you via Chamber.
  </Step>
</Steps>

### Recipient Types

| Type               | Description                                 |
| ------------------ | ------------------------------------------- |
| **Top Teams** | Leads of the N teams with highest GPU usage |
| **Team Lead** | The lead of a specific team |
| **Workload Owner** | The user who submitted a specific workload |
| **Yourself** | Send a report to your own inbox |
| **Specific Users** | Choose users by name or email address |

### Tone Options

Match your communication style — choose from **formal**, **friendly**, **urgent**, or **informational**.

### Data You Can Include

* GPU usage statistics
* Workload details and history
* Capacity and allocation info
* Optimization recommendations

<Tip>
  Try: "Email the top 3 teams by GPU spend this month with their utilization stats and suggestions for improvement" — the AI handles everything from recipient resolution to drafting.
